In a list of demands submitted to Azizan by the divisions, the Alor Setar division claimed that the menteri besar “failed to strengthen the implementation of Islam in line with the demands of the Islamic struggle borne by PAS.”A copy of this list was obtained by Malaysiakini.

However in a rebuttal, when contacted, deputy PAS commissioner Hassan Abdul Razak played down the criticisms and described them as misunderstandings and coffee-house chatter.According to him, some things have been carried out but were not announced, others are being carried out in stages, while others are still in the planning stage.

PAS has taken centre stage in Kedah but Gabriel Adit PKR assemblyman continues to ruffle up the State BN feathers in this extracted report ,”The request for Ngemah assemblyman Gabriel Adit and four other “party-less” elected representatives to join Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) was made to Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. At a meeting four years ago, Adit said former Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) president Tan Sri Leo Moggie had sought the help of the Prime Minister to get them (all former PBDS leaders) to cross over en-bloc to PBB.

The other four are MPs Datuk Joseph Salang (Julau) and Aaron Dagang (Kanowit), ex-MP Jawah Gerang (Lubok Antu) and former assemblyman Stanley Ajang (Belaga). Adit, who joined PKR last Saturday, said the request was made so the five could remain in the Barisan Nasional since they were not keen to join the new Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS).

PRS - born the day PBDS’s registration was revoked in 2004 - subsequently replaced PBDS in the coalition.

Adit said Abdullah promised to call PBB president Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and convey Moggie’s request. This led to a meeting with PBB deputy president Tan Sri Alfred Jabu and other leaders but nothing happened after that.

Adit told reporters this yesterday in response to PBB senior vice-president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan’s statement on Monday that Adit had wanted to join PBB, which, however, advised him to instead choose PRS.

Meanwhile in todays local tabloids, Gramong Juna (Assistant Minister of Rural Development) said in the headline BN better off without excess baggage,”Those who are always on the ground will know the real situation.Of coure there will always be some frustrated and dissatisfied people eager to jump the bandwagon for their own reasons.”

Joseph Salang Deputy Minister from PRS while commenting on this subject said,” Adit’s decision to to join PKR was more for personal reasons.He is almost reaching the end of his political career and has been pushed to the walls.”

Salang said that although the rural people might be tempted to join PKR,the Bn could pre-empt it by correcting any wrong or shortcomings..real or otherwise from now. On the cliams that many Dayak leaders would be joining PKR soon,Salang said Anwar was known for making wild claims. But let us wait for the day he reveals the names.” he added

According to our sources, that in the forthcoming PKR function which will be held in Miri on December 13th there is a possibilty that PKR will have another additional PKR Assemblyman in their fold. The source has also ruled out the name of Larry Sng(Assistant Minister in CMs office) and Johnicol Rayong( Independant Assemblyman). The groundswell is evident and the elected representatives needs to WAKE UP TO THEIR CALL OF DUTY or they will face the indignity of losing their seats in the next state elections. This is very true for both sides of the house and the people are the ones that VOTE YOU in and they will REMOVE YOU if you are not up to their requirements.
