Its been more than one year the Rural Electrification Scheme Project (RES) along Jalan Bukit Goram in Kapit division Sarawak has been abundant. Some of the resident living there felt that they are being cheated by the empty promised made by their representative during the last state and general election.
The pole and cable had already been erected to the road leading the residential house for more than one year but the electricity supply still not connected to their house. The reason behind the delay of the project still not known. However when contacted about the project delayed the contractor told us that they are still waiting for the cable.
One of the resident who refused to be named complaint that all the while they have to depend on the generator for their power supply and it is not convenient because the fuel cost is very expensive they have to stop the generator by 9:00 pm every night to save the fuel.
They appeal to their representative YB Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi and YB George Lagong (Pelagus ADUN) to help them to expedite the RES project so that the electricity supply can be connected to their house soon.
We have inform YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. Jemut Masing (Baleh ADUN) Land Development Minister for help but however he will address the problem during the Sarawak Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) sitting because this is under the Public Utilities minister scope of work.
YB Datuk Amar Hj. Awang Tengah Ali Hassan
Rural Electrification Scheme (RES) project is under the jurisdiction of Public Utilities Minister which is now handled by YB Datuk Amar Hj. Awang Tengah Ali Hassan and is assisted by YB Datuk Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom (Electricity and Telecom).
As this RES project is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Utilities we hope that the minister should walk their talk and kept their promise to the people so that the people not losing hope in Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
It seems that the people especially Iban in rural area began to feel that their well being are not immediately attended by the present government.
Its really pity to see one of the single mother complaint to us that she have been waiting for the electricity supply to her house since last year seems that the authority don't really care about the problem they are facing.
We appeal to the BN government to frequently visit their constituencies so that they not overlooked seeing the problem facing by the people.
